Free Games for Seniors is built to be private and respectful. You do not need an account, and you never have to give us your name or email address to play. This page explains, in plain language, what information is and is not collected when you use our games.

Information stored on your own device

Your display preferences (text size, high contrast, light or dark theme) and your game progress are saved in your browser’s local storage — on your device only. We cannot see this information, and it is never sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser data will reset it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit and which games get played. It is loaded on every page of this site, and it does set cookies in your browser, including one usually named _ga, which Google uses to tell one visit apart from another. It also records your approximate location from your network address, your browser and device type, and the pages you open here. It does not receive your name or your email address, because we never ask you for either.

Alongside the page views, we record two events on a games page: that a game was started, and that a hint was pressed. Both carry only the name of the game. What you typed, which squares you tapped and how you did are never sent anywhere.

You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit with Google’s browser add-on, or block it with any content blocker. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Advertising

No ads run on this site today, and the Google AdSense script that would serve them is switched off with them. If ads are ever switched on to keep the games free, they will be a small number of clearly labelled boxes, the script will load again on every page whether or not an ad is showing, and everything below will apply from that day.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Its advertising cookie lets Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits here and to other sites on the internet.
• Google and other third-party vendors may also use web beacons, pixels and similar technologies to count how often an ad was seen and whether it worked.
• You can turn off personalised advertising for your Google account at Google Ad Settings. Google explains what its advertising cookies do at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
• To opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at once, use aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

Whatever else changes, the ads here will never cover the board, never sit between you and a move, and never pop up. Those limits are written out on our promise page.

If you are in Europe or the UK

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are treated differently, and more cautiously. For those countries every storage signal starts switched off: Google Analytics sets no cookie, advertising sets no cookie, and nothing is used to build a profile, unless and until you say yes. Until then Google receives at most a count that a page was viewed, with no identifier attached to it.

This is done with Google Consent Mode. If you have said yes and change your mind, clearing this site’s data in your browser puts you back to the starting position, and you will be asked again.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

You can clear your saved preferences and progress at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the games will still work.
