Most quiz pages let you play round after round for as long as you like, and that is exactly what our regular Trivia Quiz is for. This page does something different on purpose. Once a day there are ten questions, the same ten for every person who opens this page anywhere in the world, and then that is the day's quiz, finished. Tomorrow there will be a new ten.
That small limit is what makes a quiz worth returning to. A short session with the morning coffee, or after lunch, without the temptation to keep clicking for another round and another after that. Ten questions, a few minutes, and you are done for the day.
Five topics, mixed into one quiz
The questions are drawn from the same five friendly topics as the regular quiz: Classic Movies, Golden Oldies Music, General Knowledge, Nature and Gardening, and Food and Cooking. Rather than choosing one topic and staying there, the Daily Trivia mixes all five together, so a single ten-question quiz might ask about a 1950s film, then a garden bird, then a capital city, then a kitchen ingredient. Nobody chooses a topic on this page: the mix is decided for you, the same way for everybody.
Everyone gets the same ten
Today's ten questions are chosen from today's date, so every person answering this page today is answering the identical quiz. Nobody gets an easier set, and no question repeats within the same day's quiz. That is what makes it worth mentioning to a friend or comparing notes over the phone: you are both talking about the same questions.
The day changes at midnight UTC, the same moment Daily Sudoku and Daily Cat Sudoku change over. That is midnight in London in winter, seven in the evening in New York, and mid-morning in Australia, so the new quiz may land at an unusual hour where you live, but it lands at the same instant for everyone.
Getting one wrong, or missing a day
A wrong answer is never a problem. Answer all ten and the page shows your score along with the correct answer for anything you missed, so nothing is left unresolved. There is no timer, no life to lose, and no way to fail a quiz.
Finish the quiz and the site quietly counts the day. Come back tomorrow and finish again and it counts two days running, and so on. That count lives on your own device only: there is no account attached to it, and nobody else can see it. Miss a day and the count simply starts again from one, without a notice, an email, or a nudge of any kind. It is a small pleasure to notice, not an obligation to keep up with.

- No. Take all the time you like on every question. There is no clock, no lives, and nothing kept from one day to the next except a quiet count of how many days in a row you have finished a quiz.
- What happens if I get a question wrong?
- You are told right away, in words as well as colour, and the round carries on. Once all ten are answered, the correct answer for anything you missed is shown again on the results screen, so you leave knowing the right answer either way.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No download, no sign-up, no email. A few small, clearly labelled ads keep the site running, never as pop-ups and never over the quiz itself.
