Word Scramble (you may also know it as an anagram puzzle, or from the newspaper as a “jumble”) could not be simpler. The game takes a familiar, everyday word, mixes its letters up, and lays them out on big, clear tiles. Your job is to put them back in order:
- Tap the tiles one at a time — each letter jumps up into the answer boxes.
- Changed your mind? Tap any letter in the answer and it drops back down.
- When the last box is filled, the game checks it for you. Right, and you get a cheer and the next word; not quite, and the letters stay put so you can simply rearrange them — nothing is ever lost.
A round is eight words from a theme of your choice — the garden, the kitchen, days out, nature, or around the house. The line above the letters keeps you gently oriented (“Word 3 of 8 · Garden words”), and at the end of the round you get a warm little summary. No score is kept and there is nothing to lose.
Never stuck, never rushed
Every word here is a common one of four to eight letters — the kind you use every day — so the puzzle is about the pleasant “aha” of seeing the word appear, not about obscure vocabulary. If one will not come to you, press the amber Hint button and the next correct letter slides into place; press it as often as you like. If you would rather just move along, Skip this word shows you the answer kindly and brings up the next one. And there is no timer — the game happily waits while you make a cup of tea.
